While mostly desolate, there were a few points of interest on our drive to and from Cedar City.
We drove through Walker Lake and saw 20+ big horn sheep, which was a first for us.
On the way back, we stopped and ate dinner at Sand Mountain, Nevada and stopped and looked at the Pony Express station there.
The kids couldn't resist climbing on the dunes.

Extraterrestrial Highway, Rachel, NV -- near Area 51
On our way to look at a house in Cedar City, UT, we took the Extraterrestrial Highway. It is famed for its paranormal experiences and UFO sightings. We stopped for a few minutes in Rachel, NV, which is the town nearest to Area 51.
The road was deserted, so the kids took a seat in the middle of the highway.

Visiting Oxbow Nature Study Area and Loyalton, CA with Grandma and Grandpa Knight
Grandma and Grandpa Knight invited us to go on a nature adventure with them. We went for a nature walk at the Oxbow Nature Study Area in Reno, then we explored Marble Hot Springs, near Loyalton, CA and saw lots of amazing birds.
Both areas had far more water than usual and some minor flooding.
