Providence Canyon

There are seven natural wonders of Georgia, so we are trying to visit them all.  This one is Providence Canyon.  A really colorful fun hike with the kids.  We had a great time and it was nice to get our of town for a while. There was a 1/4

Savannah's Birthday

We had a simple family birthday party for Savannah. We started with pin the tail on the cheetah (Savannah chose the animal). The we had an ice-cream cake. Opening presents Afterwards, dancing to Newsies.

Growing Peppers

We planted corn, beans, aloe, sun flowers and some peppers near the beginning of the season.  The peppers have done really well.  Here are a few of them.  We grew jalapenos, serranos, and tobasco peppers.  The tobasco peppers taste really good, but are really spicy. Tabasco pepper plant is pretty

Fishing and playing in our neighborhood

Our neighborhood had a couple of nice large ponds / lakes.  The kids and I went out fishing and playing by our association club house. All of the kids had their fishing poles, but Tucker and Savannah lost interest after a while and started searching for colorful rocks on the path.

East Cobber Parade

We didn't have high expectations, but the whole family had a great time at the East Cobber Parade.  It definitely helps you feel like part of a community.

Bulloch Hall, Roswell, GA

Angela and I were able to take a tour of an old home of one of the early settlers of Roswell, GA.  This was the childhood home of FDR's mother. Relaxing on the porch.

Carson's Family Home Evening Lesson

Every Monday night, our family has Family Home Evening.  Carson taught a lesson during this one about love.  To finish it off, he had each of us make a heart out of Legos.

Tallulah Gorge

Tallulah Gorge is a big rocky canyon that cuts through the North Georgia Hills This wrought iron fence is placed on the edge of a rocky cliff. There's a sheer drop all the way down to the water below, you can see behind Tucker how high we are.

Joe Wilkinson, part of the State Assembly, was there when Keith and Melvin were looking into the assembly room and let them go inside. Usually, you have to look into this room from the doorway only, but they got to walk around and Joe Wilkinson told them about the room.

1st Pack Meeting of the Year

First pack meeting of this year. Carson got a lot of awards from going to the daycamp at the beginning of the summer. He is earning his Bear badge now. He got the 'Whittling Chip' card this night, so he can carry a pocketknife. I'm one

Trying out our new little boat

While Angela was out of town, the kids and I decided to go fishing.  We have two good size ponds in our neighborhood that are supposed to have some decent fish in them.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to see them.

We posted this a little late, but we celebrated Tucker's birthday last month with the Mattys' at Chuck E Cheese's.  We played games for about an hour, then we went out to lunch together. Afterwards, we came home and enjoyed Tucker's Minecraft ice

4th of July

Cub Scout Daycamp
